Hello everyone, I have two nail polishes from Bobbi Brown for you today. This post includes quick thoughts and swatches of both shades plus some details of the upcoming Desert Twilight Makeup Collection For Fall 2012.
A leaflet from Bobbi Brown states that this collection will be rolling out end August – I was quite surprised to see them available at DFS Changi Airport last week. I grabbed both the nail polishes and went straight to the cashier – nope, I didn’t purchase the Bronzer/Blush Duo if you are wondering.
Each bottle of nail polish contains 11ml of product, made in France. I am sorry, I can’t remember the price at DFS.
Owning a bottle of Bobbi Brown Nail Polish is like a dream come true. I am not sure if they have ever released any nail polishes before – my gut instinct is, they have and I must have missed them. I briefly recalled asking myself what products I would like to see from my favourite brands in the future – one of them is; nail polishes from Bobbi Brown.
Feels like Christmas.
These two bottles of nail polishes did not disappoint (in a way). They are decently pigmented, 2 coats covers the nails evenly and smoothly – these are surely not one-coaters tho. For the first layer, you may experience some unevenness but as soon as the 2nd layer goes on, it evens out everything.
The texture is smooth and has an easy to apply consistency without being streaky. I have yet to test the lasting power because I have been doing quite a number of swatches lately. When I do, I will post a shout out.
Twilight – the name has already won me over, is a shimmery deepen eggplant with multi-coloured shimmer. Quite similar to the base colour of Estée Lauder Molten Lava (swatches here). Molten Lava has a more mysterious edge whereby Twilight has a more complex infusion of shimmers.
Both are different and they are individually beautiful.
Side by side with Estée Lauder Molten Lava.
Turquoise – something a little different for Fall, would have expected this shade for Summer. This shade is very bright and does not contains any shimmer. It has a creamy finish and screams for attention.
In between Dior Saint-Tropez and Estée Lauder Teal Topaz. As you can see, Bobbi Brown Turquoise leans more blue – it’s louder and sharper.
Overall, these polishes are decent enough to own if you like the colours.
Being greedy as always, I would love to see Bobbi Brown releasing nail colours that matches their lip colours especially shades from their 20th Anniversary Lip Palette – they are beyond gorgeous. Imagine Brown, Rose, Coral Gables or Candied Red on your nails, wow.
