An invitation which states “Your Personal Invite To Guerlain’s Dressing Room” caught me by surprise as I had absolutely no idea what to expect. When I replied to RSVP for the event, I didn’t want to ask, didn’t want to spoil the surprise.

I thought I shall continue and go with the flow but in my mind, I kept wondering, is it makeup related or fashion? But it’s neither.

So, when the day came, I got dressed and drove to Antoinette where it’s held. I have never been to this restaurant before and I am in love with the setting, design and style – makes me feel like I am on a holiday.

Antoinette invites you to share our joie de vivre in our beautiful surroundings reminiscent of an elegant boudoir with an excess of meticulously crafted cakes, pastries and fine food as the Queen descends on Singapore’s shores.

Marie-Antoinette, the last Queen of France who was so often revered for her extravagance and fine taste opens her humble abode and presents a tantalizing treat for the senses both savoury and sweet.

This quintessential Parisian pâtisserie and salon de thé will set the benchmark for the pastry and dessert scene not only in Singapore, but also in the region with her takes on time-honoured French classic desserts. While our restaurant promises a savoury celebration of Chef Pang’s culinary prowess with an excellent selection of classical regional French fare.

Back to the event, I still had no idea what it was about – except hints (images of little black dresses) were all around. All guests were treated to a mini makeover where the makeup artists changed our lip colour and added a touch of dazzling hue to our cheeks – all done with their new items from Fall.

After snapping a few pictures, it’s time to unveil “La Petite Robe Noire“. Thank you for the personalized name tag, menu and the beautiful photo frame. More information of this fragrant will soon follow – it has the prettiest bottle ever with a lovely, sweet pink juice.

Besides the makeover and photo taking session, we were all in for a treat – a delicious and satisfying three course meal.

Starts with an appetizer, Salade Antoinette – followed with the main course, I chose Morel Mushroom Pasta (love it) and finished off with a plateful of dessert which includes Rose Macaron, Sesame Macaron and L’amour Ice Cream. And a customized La Petite Robe Noire cupcake.

It was a very successful event, thank you Guerlain and team for inviting.

From the venue, setting, food and all the little details on display were nothing but impressive. And did I mention there was a mini dance performance too? The food and ambient are brilliant and I will surely return for lunch or dinner some time soon.
