I am not sure if you know but nail polishes from Illamasqua are one of my favourites out there. Their award-winning formula is excellent and range of shades are beyond amazing – ranging from dusty greys, murky greens to neon pinks and bright reds. Most of what I own are beautiful one-coaters too.
In today’s post, I will be featuring one of their newest addition – Creator.
Each bottle of Illamasqua Nail Varnish retails at GBP13.50 for 15ml of product, made in Australia. From Singapore, you can purchase them online – either directly from Illamasqua or ASOS. Illamasqua offers free international shipping with orders over GBP75 and 10% loyalty discount from your 3rd order onwards.
On the other hand, ASOS provides free international shipping with no minimal order but I have heard of their poor packing quality – which have resulted in broken powder blushers and eyeshadows.
Illamasqua describes Creator as a magical black and magical it is. Creator contains large flecks of silver suspended in an opaque, black base. Distribution of the silver flecks applies evenly and I was able to achieve full coverage in 2 thin coats.
The irregular shape and sizes of silver flecks sparkles beautifully at night, under any form of lighting. Texture is smooth and creamy. Consistency is nice and thick (in a good way) – easy to apply without streaking.
Swatches above swatched with Nail Tek Foundation II, 2 coats of nail polish and Deborah Lippmann Addicted To Speed Top Coat.
Everything about the Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Creator is love – from texture, consistency down to the colour. I think black, dark hues with sparkles add depth and dimension and a mysterious vibe to any wardrobe. It’s edgy in a modern and understated way – and matches most of my outfits well.
Midnight from MECCA Cosmetica Painted Beauty Midnight Series (swatches here) is somewhat similar but contains multi-coloured shimmers and the silver flecks are smaller in size.
Thank you for looking.
