Lancôme L’Absolu Créme de Mat In 300 Magie Pourpre

The Lancôme L’Absolu Créme de Mat in 300 Magie Pourpre is new and limited for this season. Retails at S$40 for 6ml of product, made in France.

Lancôme describes L’Absolu Créme de Mat as if L’Absolu Créme de Brillance has undergone a transformation and become completely matte. It has the smoothness of a gloss, the coverage of a lipstick and the comfort of a cream texture.

I have mentioned my love for this product and in this post, I would love to share the reasons why.

Firstly, it’s mildly rose scented. The smell lingers for a minute during application. After application, the smell is gone but I really don’t mind sniffing from the tube all day – I love it.

Presented in an identical packaging as L’Absolu Créme de Brillance, 300 Magie Pourpre comes in a clear plastic tube with a black wand. It’s deltoid shaped applicator made application a breeze, allows precision – without having the fuss of using any extra tools, like lip brushes or cotton tips.

Each dip picks up just the right amount of product for a full lip application. But if you are looking for an even more opaque coverage, go for a second serving.

300 Magie Pourpre is a rich raspberry pink with a slight tinge of magenta. It’s highly pigmented and provides full coverage. Below is a swatch with just one swipe – the colour is more vibrant in real life. I think this shade will flatter most skin tones as it’s neither too warm nor too cool.

The texture is silky smooth and creamy – it’s pretty effortless during application as it glides onto my lips easily.

It lasts throughout the day and a meal on me which I am very impressed with. Although it’s richly pigmented, the formula feels extremely light on my lips and comfortable throughout the day without feeling dry. My lips look well moisturized with it on and it doesn’t emphasize dryness.

The most fascinating part of this product is – its finish. It gives a velvety cashmere kind of look and it’s beautiful. It’s not matte and definitely not glossy.

However, I noticed slight feathering towards end of the 8th hour mark. To counteract this problem, I suggest;-

  • blotting off excess lip balm prior to applying (if you apply lip balm)
  • use a transparent lip liner to line entire lips
  • powder lips prior to applying
  • apply a layer of product, blot and re-apply

Overall, there is nothing I don’t like about this product and would highly recommend everyone to check it out. The formula, shade, packaging and finish of Lancôme L’Absolu Créme de Mat in 300 Magie Pourpre is absolutely breathtaking.

Thank you for looking.
