Hello everyone, in this post, I have three lip colours from Lancôme for you from their Midnight Roses Makeup Collection For Fall 2012 – Lancôme L’Absolu Nu in 309 Soie de Lilas, 310 Rose Samas & 311 Prune Resille.
Each retails at S$44 for 4.2g of product, made in Japan.
This season, L’Absolu Nu dresses your lips in 3 new sheer shades. This formula claims to enhance your natural lip colour in a magic veil of shiny translucent colors while caring for them with anti-aging ingredient Pro-Xylane™.
From light lavender to soft rose, these new colors will reveal your magic seduction powers.
- 309 Soie de Lilas – a cool tone baby pink-lilac
- 310 Rose Samas – a warm soft delicate rose
- 311 Prune Resille – a neutral vibrant reddish plum
On my lips, 309 Soie de Lilas translates a little too pale and cool – I don’t think it suits my skin tone very well. 310 Rose Samas is absolutely gorgeous and I think this is my favourite shade of them three. Surprisingly, 311 Prune Resille is rather pigmented when worn, the colour payoff is pretty sharp and it’s a very pretty colour that brightens. Can be worn sheer or layered on for more intensity.
The formula of L’Absolu Nu is light and moisturizing. The texture is soft, silky smooth and glides on effortlessly. Feels very comfortable on the lips throughout the day. Colour payoff is sheer-ish – they still provide a decent dose of pigment and is distinguishable between the varies shades.
However, with formulas like such, they tend to lack in their longevity. I had to touch up or reapply after a cup of coffee and definitely a meal.
I like them for how comfortable they are on the lips. They do not emphasize my lips’ dryness which is a plus. I also like the soft glossy finish it has – not overly shiny but gives a healthy sheen. I can see myself reaching out for 310 Rose Samas on a daily basis because the colour is wearable and fool-proof.
If you are looking for an everyday and work-friendly lip product that provides adequate hue without being overly pigmented or requires too much effort and maintenance, these are great choices. They actually remind me of MAQuillAGE True Rouge.
Or if you wish to play with a richer, more vibrant hue but not fully opaque, 311 Prune Resille may be your answer – lightly dab onto lips for a flush of colour.
Thank you for looking.
