My 5 All Time Favourites For October 2012

Good evening everyone and happy Halloween!! What are your plans for tonight? My little niece dressed up as a little bee today for trick or treat and we brought her to the indoor playground – it was awesome.

This month, I have a range of very exciting products to share, from body care, skincare to makeup. All of them are new – either new in the market or new in my stash. I am enjoying all of them and I can’t wait to tell you all about them. So, let’s get started, shall we?

Firstly, I purchased the new L’Occitane Bonne Mère Honey Gently Body Wash – it’s from their recent Bonne Mère collection and I will be going back for another bottle very soon. This body wash is enriched with softening and comforting honey and melts onto the skin. It’s gentle and moisturizing at the same time. This formula leaves my skin soft and hydrated – I love the mild honey scent.

It’s available in soap, hand wash and cream for face, hands and body as well. Looking forward to try the other version, in Milk. I also like that it foams up slightly – feels cleaner that way.

The Philosophy Take Shelter Sunscreen is one of the latest addition to my existing sunscreen stash. I received it at an event and have been enjoying it. It contains environmental shield, UVA/UVB and a high protection of SPF 50 PA+++ yet it feels very light on the skin – I could hardly feel anything to be exact.

This sunscreen leaves my skin looking matte and I think the oil control is pretty amazing – I enjoy wearing it on its own or under makeup. It comes in a plastic tube with a handy pump which dispenses the desired amount – 2 pumps is sufficient for both face and neck. It doesn’t leave a white cast and it feels extremely comfortable even in our hot, humid weather.

I love eyeliners, especially blacks and browns, and the YSL Waterproof Eye Pencil in 2 Patent Leather is one of my favourites. It’s richly pigmented and creamy soft, feels ultra lush and glides onto the lids perfectly without tugging. I love it and it lasts all day without smudging.

I like to use it on its own – to tight line my upper lash line or along my lower water line. I also like to use it along my upper lash line, blend and smudge it with an eyeshadow to create a quick but softly smoked out eyes. Highly recommend this eyeliner to those who have problems with eyeliners smudging or those with oilier eyelids.

Tom Ford – I need more.

Both Tom Ford Cheek Color in Flush and Eye Color Quad in Golden Mink have been my go-to this month. I love pairing them together with a coral nude lip colour – absolutely gorgeous combination. Picture of the eyeshadow quad above doesn’t do justice to how gorgeous the colours are – please refer to my previous post on the actual piece.

The blusher is stunning, it goes a healthy glow of hue, making my cheeks look fuller. I will be reviewing this item soon.

This is it, pretty much summed up what I enjoy this month. I love every item and I would definitely recommend checking the body wash if you have sensitive and dry skin. And the eyeliner but I really hope YSL will release more colours soon. And Tom Ford products once they arrive in Singapore – next month?

Thank you for reading.

  1. Philosophy Take Shelter Sunscreen sounds promising! How does this compare to Shishedo Perfect UV Protector? I foresee that my bottle of shishedo is finishing soon…

    • Both contains SPF 50 but Shiseido’s watery and very water resistant – Philosophy’s creamy..
They both feels lightweight on the skin tho, I guess it depends whether you like a watery consistency or a creamy one..
But I must say, Take Shelter holds up oil quite well throughout the day =)
      Hope I helped xx
