Shiseido Limited Edition Camellia Compact

Good afternoon everyone, seems like a long time since I last reviewed a cheek product. Today, I have the Limited Edition Shiseido Camellia Compact to share. Stick to the end for swatches. This gorgeous compact is already available for sale at all Shiseido counters.

Retails at S$60 for 6.5g of product, made in Japan.

With its exquisite design of overlapping camellias, the Camellia Compact encompasses the significant representation of Shiseido’s current and ever-evolving knowledge that is built upon our long history.

Presented in a stylishly sleek black lacquer compact, this number is light yet sturdy. Comes with a mirror great for touch-ups. You will find three shades in this compact, all sprinkled with a generous coat of sparkling gold dust – I hope you are able to see the sparkles (in the picture above and the first picture – reflections in the mirror).

For those who prefers something subtle, you will be glad to know, the gold dust is (of course) an over-spray and it goes away within the first 2 uses. Even for my first use, the gold dust didn’t make me look like a glitter ball.

When the gold dust wears out, you get a vividly rich rose, spring-petal pink and an icy-cool platinum – all with an iridescent golden sheen. Very, very pretty to admire and when worn, the subtle sheen creates a healthy glow, nothing too over the top nor too loud and dramatic.

Think Lunasol Glowing Powder Cheeks reviewed here and here.

One can choose to wear these shades on their own, use the white as a highlighter or mix them together for your very own unique hue.

Swatches above taken under natural day light, without flash.

The colours are very richly pigmented and the texture is very finely milled. Depending on which shade you pick up more, you can get a variation of sweet pink to hot cerise.

Application is straight forward and simple. A little goes a long, long way because the shades are so pigmented. I would recommend going very light handed and layer on for more intensity (if needed) – I gave my blush brush a gentle swirl on the pan and the colour is vibrant enough for me.

Wearing the Camellia Compact in the picture above. I swirled my blush brush around the pan once to pick up all three shades – picked up the white separately and applied it over the blush as a highlighter.

The highlighter alone is similar to their Luminizing Satin Face Color in WT 905 which is great for enhancing features without shine and shimmer.

It has been a while since I am so excited over a blush. The last I could remember was in August/September. Nothing from the holiday collections drawn my interest and I am glad the Camellia Compact came along as an early Christmas present from Shiseido Singapore. Thank you for such a lovely surprise.

This is nothing but love.

Christmas is round the corner and I think this makes a perfect gift for mummies and girlfriends. The shades are wearable and adjustable to suit a wide range of skin tones so no worries at all. And the meaningful design behind this limited edition compact is just mesmerizing.

Quick breakdown of what I am using in the picture above: Lunasol Sheer Glossy Eyes in EX 01 Nuance Gray, MAQuillAGE True Rouge in BE 361 and MAQuillAGE Essence Glamorous Rouge in RD 791.

Thank you for looking.
