The “new” YSL nail polish formula and brush has quickly become one of my favourite. The wide brush applicator is amazing – spreads across the nails and applies really well. You may want to take a look at this post for a more detailed comparison.
Each bottle retails at S$35 for 10ml of product, made in France. Available at TANGS Orchard and ION Orchard.
Today, I have the Yves Saint Laurent La Lacquer COUTURE in 6 Rouge Dada for you. Have been wearing this shade of red very often recently – love the formula and colour.
I would describe Rouge Dada as a bright, deepen red with a semi-translucent quality to it – meaning not entirely opaque, from certain angles, you can still spot visible nail line. Similar to NARS Jungle Red, this red changes depending on the surrounding’s lighting conditions.
In the night, Rouge Dada appears to be a deep, dark red similar to what you see in the bottle. But during the day, it’s much brighter – with a slight touch of fuchsia.
Personally, I like this red a lot. I like that it’s bright and cheerful during the day. And it becomes deep and mysterious when night falls.
The quality is good, brush applicator is brilliant and the formula is lasting. There is nothing I dislike about this except the fact that if I want to achieve a totally opaque look, I must apply three thin coats but that doesn’t bother me much.
Which are your favourite YSL nail polish shades? I have three more colours waiting to be swatched.
Thank you for looking.
Swatches taken under natural sun light without flash. Swatches swatched with Nail Tek Foundation II, 2 coats of nail polish and Seche Vite Top Coat.
The name is super cute. DADA!
Yes, lol =)
I never tried an YSL np myself, but I’ve been eyeing a really gorgeous dark one. So good to know that they actually are good too! Love the shade here, the slight fuchsia tone in it is hot!
Oh my Teri, you must try YSL Nail Polishes, they are super gorgeous!!
Easy to apply, easy to dry and the brush is amazing =)
I need every colour!!
