Shu Uemura UNMASK

Shu Uemura UNMASK - 1

“Beautiful make-up starts with beautiful skin.”

Just as a painter relies on the purity of his canvas to create art, so too does a make-up artist. Beautiful skin is the canvas for a make-up artist and the richness of hues, brushstrokes and overall effect of make-up depends on the quality of that face canvas.

Shu Uemura utilizes professional experiences and technology to create the most beautiful canvas.

“The skin is endowed with many functions to preserve its beauty. But one thing it cannot do is cleanse itself.”

the accumulation of impurities slows down the natural functions and accelerates the aging of skin. therefore, thorough removal of impurities is the first step in skincare.

“The beauty of cleansing oil is that it is the most effective way to remove all impurities and it creates the best skin condition.”

Shu Uemura insists on cleansing with oil that gently removes make-up and dirt from the skin while maintaining the inherent moisture balance of the skin.

OIL REMOVES OIL

Specially selected oils and actives of natural origin come fused with the intelligence of science to provide immediate moisture in one-step cleansing. The differently-shaped molecules blend with oil-based make-up and sebum lodged in pores to remove them thoroughly in a single wash.

MAGICAL EMULSIFICATION

The oil naturally spreads and dissolves all oil-based make-up. In contact with water, the magic of emulsification starts – the oil turns to a milky liquid, capturing both make-up and water-soluble impurities.

This unique emulsifying technology is the secret to the revolutionary performance of one-step effective cleansing.

IT ALL STARTED WITH UNMASK
NUMBER 1 CLEANSING OIL SINCE 1967

While working as a make-up artist in Hollywood in the 1950s, Mr. Shu Uemura discovered a revolutionary oil-based cleanser that removed the heavy on-screen make-up used on actresses.

The wonderful condition of actresses’ skin amazed him, even after shooting in dusty studios in heavy make-up day after day, their skin simply became more beautiful. He discovered the secret – a golden hued magic oil called “unmask”, a cleansing oil that rinses easily with water and also conditions and moisturizes for petal-soft, flower fresh skin.

Since then, the brand has been pursuing the best “magic oil”, continuously incorporating innovative technologies. Today, shu uemura’s cleansing oils are widely recognized as the best across the world.

  1. Hi Joey, I have seen these at Changi Airport! 🙂 They are really pretty to collect. Hehe. And currently, the GWP (at Changi Airport) attached to this edition of cleansing oil is quite attractive.

  2. Very nice product but contains mineral oil. Try Camellia Cleansing Oil by Tatcha, it has no mineral oil, parabens, sulphates or Vit E (tocopherol) which is the 3rd most allergy causing ingredient in skincare/cosmetics. Tatcha’s Camellia Oil washes off cleanly and completely and is very gentle but completely removes makeup, eye makeup and sunscreen. I think Tatcha’s is far superior than Shu’s.

    • Hi Mimi,
Oh my, I have read so many great things about Tatcha, I must really try!!
For products that washes off – like Cleansing Oils or Cleansing Balms, I am still ok with mineral oil but not something that has to be left on – say foundations, creams or oils..
Will let you know once I get my hands on Tatcha’s =)
      Thanks for sharing as always!!
      Happy weekend xx

  3. I am so happy to have hauled some makeup from Shu in Hong Kong during my last trip. I haven’t used Shu’s cleansing oils in a while. I am currently loving the one from Sulwhasoo. Happy New Year to you!

    • Hi Rola,
Prices at Shu Uemura HK is so much more attractive, must shop!!
I haven’t tried Sulwhasoo, how is it compared to Shu’s – which do you like more?
Happy New Year to you too, happy Sunday hun xx
