About a week ago, TONI&GUY Hair Meet Wardrobe made its debut in Singapore, launching 21 new products. For full details of all the products, prices and availability, hop over to this post.

This entry features mainly pictures taken during the launch where hair meets wardrobe and makeup created by makeup maestro Larry Yeo. This event took place at ION Sky, the perfect destination with breathtaking paranomic views of the city’s nightscape.

At TONI&GUY, it’s all about hair fashion. For the past 15 seasons TONI&GUY have been backstage creating the key hair looks and setting hair trends for London Fashion Week.

Perfection happens when the right things come together.

When gin meets tonic or fish meets chips. Think big red buses and London, mods and scooters together, they become so much more.

Now TONI&GUY brings hair and wardrobe together. From the catwalk to the street, giving girls and guys the tools and the techniques to stay on trend and blend outfits with hairstyles, from head to toe and root to tip. Hair is the new style dictator, the fashion instigator.

Nouveau bobs to messy up dos, your style is your tweet that says how you roll – CASUAL to CREATIVE, CLASSIC to GLAMOUR.

The CASUAL style collection never tries too hard. Like morning-after hair on a summer’s day, kissed by sunshine and a little sea salt. In the distance, a band is playing in the park. Tall grass tickles knees as bright wellies swish through, topped off with a Boho dress.

Lightly tousled waves blow through the lazy breeze as you hum that song you woke up with in your head. Everything is effortless and life is a picnic.

The vibe is always relaxed, from the messy up-do to the denim on your back.

“The fuchsia coloured eyeshadow was created using Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in Woodstock (a shocking pink) and using Hello Kitty Duo Eyeshadow in Love, Love, Love to buff into it. The lashes were pumped up using many coats of Cover Girl Volume Exact in Brown.”

The CLASSIC style is a style that never goes out of fashion. It’s timeless. From a Nouveau bob to a crisp preppy collar, there’s always a reason to look back and find inspiration. It’s a vintage that’s always worth opening.

Extreme side partings and high ponytails blast through the past, dipping in and out of the 40s, 50s and 60s, from screen idols, rockers to mods.

Retro clothes keep time with the beat.

The GLAMOUR style sure knows how to party.

Retro-hollywood with a modern day twist. Big curls that bounce as you strut, making jaws drop with leather and lace, taffeta and tailored chic. There are bubbles in your glass, mirror balls reflecting in your eyes and a trail of sequins in your wake.

Last but not least, the CREATIVE style is a style that’s always on the cutting edge, living life in fast forward. It’s electronic and synthesized, pushing through boundaries with eclectic verve.

There’s only one rule: BREAK ALL RULES!

With gravity-defying hair and hemlines, the looks are progressive and brave, upsetting genres at the flick of a quiff. Textured lengths, hard hold and high attitude reign supreme over spray – painted kingdoms.

Many thanks to the theme above for such an amazing show. This show left me wanting more – each model is thoughtfully dressed up from, literally, head to toe and I love the idea.

I must admit, I am very lazy when it comes to hair styling. I wash, condition, blew dry and straighten to neaten up the ends – that’s it. I mask twice a month and apply some hair serum when I remember. After this show, I am definitely a lot more aware of how my hair looks and if it matches my overall appearance.

But my hair is short, what else can I do to make it nicer? For those with short hair, do you feel the same way too?

Out of the four well-edited styles, I love the CASUAL style most because I think it relates to me more – something carefree and flowy with a bit of “constructive mess”. I have always admired hair that looks effortless, as if nothing has been done. And those out of the bed look/hair is so seductive. Think Kate Moss.

Which style do you like most? And why? Would love to hear your thoughts – because I hardly talk about hair.

Thank you for looking.

  1. I gave up trying. How to in such humid weather condition? Even with the best styling products, hair still collapse after a couple of hours. Hair is naturally better to style or even seems to look effortlessly good without styling in colder countries. yes? no?

    • Hi Lisa,
I hardly style my hair – by the time I am done with my face, I need to leave home already.. LOL..
But I keep a bottle of texturising powder in my bag – comes in handy when I have a long day and when my hair needs a little poof =)
      Merry Xmas xx

  2. Merry Xmas! You don’t need much styling as your hairdo looks great already. Which texturising powder are you using? I’ve been trying out dry shampoos recently. Yet to find one i really like. I’m thinking of trying out the Bamboo volume uplifting root blast from Sephora but it comes in such a bulky can, it’s not suitable for bringing out.

    • Hi Lisa,
Hope you had a wonderful Xmas =)
I use L’Oréal Super Dust – it’s super light and packaged like a glue stick, quite portable and handy!!
I have never tried dry shampoos, they give me the thought of being unclear, just me I guess.. I prefer washing and conditioning the traditional way – with water =)
      xx
