Estée Lauder Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelée in Tease

If you like glowing cheeks, this Estée Lauder Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelée in Tease is an absolute must-have. For more collection details, please hop over to this post.

Similar in a way to the brand’s previous releases – Shimmering Sands and Modern Mercury, this piece feels like “cream in powder”. Unfortunately, I do not own any of their previous Powder Gelée to compare but Sweet Makeup Temptations has it all covered.

Housed in a clear plastic compact like their blushes, it comes with a sponge applicator instead of a brush.

In the two extreme close-up photos below, you can admire the pretty little pyramids; all pieced together reflecting light from various angles.

I can’t remember what was the exact reason which made me skip Shimmering Sands and Modern Mercury. I briefly recalled going “wow” when I swatched them at the counter. I guess the colour and intensity of those two were too bold for me as a face/cheek product.

Tease is very nicely pigmented. Not overly pigmented and the intensity is adjustable – depending on the type of brush/applicator you use. A little goes a long way for me and this mid-tone pink with gold/silver specks has a gorgeous metallic finish.

Texture is buttery smooth and silky soft with a creamy touch. I experienced very little powder residue when applying this product. The pigments adhered onto my skin neatly with no mess nor fly-aways.

Swatches below taken under natural day light, without flash.

There are probably more ways you can use this item but I like to use it either on its own along my cheek bones or use it over a matte blush as an accent – somewhat like a pop of hue plus highlighter as one. To avoid looking extremely frosty, I skip using a highlighter on my cheeks when using this piece.

You can also pat a little onto center your lips to illuminate and sharpen cupid’s bow and lips’ fullness.

Estée Lauder Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelée in Tease is one of the most frosty/metallic looking, creamy-to-touch powders in my stash along with a few others like Laura Mercier Rose Rendevous Face Illuminator, Lancôme Blush Highlighter Illuminating Powder In Moonlight Rose and Guerlain Cruel Gardenia Météorites.

Overall, I really like it and I enjoy having that iridescent glow on my cheeks during the day and in the night.

Thank you for looking.
