Origins Make A Difference™ Plus + Rejuvenating Treatment (1)

Late last year, Origins extended their range of Make A Difference™ collection with two new items – Make A Difference™ Plus + Rejuvenating Moisturizer and Make A Difference™ Plus + Rejuvenating Treatment.

Both retails at S$78 each for 50ml of product, made in USA.

Is your skin always thirsty?

Origins’ revolutionary hydra-sustaining complex, including Nature’s Rose of Jericho plus Lychee and Watermelon helps rapidly restore dwindling moisture levels then helps skin resist future dehydration.

It’s so powerful, moisture levels instantly surge by 76%. Say bye-bye dry.

I have the Make A Difference™ Plus + Rejuvenating Treatment for you today and I shall share some thoughts about this product.

Presented in a clear blue plastic jar with white lid, I find the packaging very clean-looking and reflects the hydrating properties of this product really well. The jar’s size is very handy and travel-friendly too.

I believe both Rejuvenating Moisturizer and Rejuvenating Treatment works very similarly. They are both suitable and recommended for combination skin types. The Rejuvenating Moisturizer is more of a cream and is slightly thicker in consistency as compared to the Rejuvenating Treatment – which is gel-like.

I would say the cream is more suitable for night use and the gel for day use, even under makeup.

Both products are packed with hydra-sustain complex which boosts skin’s moisture reservoir to keep it hydrated and rejuvenated all day (and night).

I am a huge fan of keeping my skin hydrated because I am constantly in air-conditioned environment. I can’t sleep without air-con. To make things worst, stress, late nights and frequent travels all factors in to make my skin even more venerable. On very bad days, I get flaky skin around the sides of my face and forehead.

I try to apply hydrating masks as often as possible and I try to use hydrating products but sometimes it’s hard to find one that’s lightweight enough for day use.

During the day, my T-zone oils up quickly and wearing richer cream is a no-no because I find my makeup sliding off by mid-day due to the hot and humid weather in Singapore. I keep my morning routine as quick as possible and I apply a lot less products during the day.

A few months ago, I incorporated the Make A Difference™ Plus + Rejuvenating Treatment into my daily skincare routine during the day. I replaced my serums and moisturizers with this treatment and it worked extremely well.

After washing my face, I apply my toner and straight onto this. Because the texture is so light, it gets absorbed into my skin very quickly. I use a cotton bud or spatula to pick up some product, rub product in between my palms and pat/press onto my skin. My skin felt instantly replenished and supple.

One thing I dislike about this product is – its smell. I couldn’t pin point what smell it is but it’s fruity and a little citrusy which lingers around for a good 2-5 minutes after application.

Overall, I like this product and I would give it a thumbs up for keeping my skin well hydrated throughout the day. For my skin type and country of residence, I think the Make A Difference™ Plus + Rejuvenating Treatment is perfect for everyday use. For the night, I prefer something richer like creams.

Throughout the day, my skin feels supple without getting oily. My T-zone still needs a bit of blotting but that’s usual for me.

This product is oil-free and based on my experiences, I would recommend it to those who have combination skin to oily skin. If you have dry or very dry skin, I reckon the Rejuvenating Moisturizer will be a better option for you.

Thank you for reading.

  1. This product looks really interesting. I wonder how it would compared against Estee Lauder Advanced Time Zone Age Reversing Line/Wrinkle Hydrating Gel Oil-Free. Both has similar texture as it being lightweight and gel like but the one from Origins is cheaper. I do not like moisturisers in jars though and I prefer one that has a pump. How long do you think this could last and is it possible to also use it at night? I do not sleep in an air-condition room and therefore I use either my normal mosturiser which I use during the day or Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate at night. Thanks for the review 🙂

    • Hi Victoria,
Aww.. I don’t have EL Advanced Time Zone to compare =(
      So sorry about that..
I prefer anything in pumps, saves all the trouble of using spatula!!
I think this tub can last at least 3 months based on twice a day..
And using it at night is possible (are you from Singapore or Malaysia – or any humid countries)?
If you are staying somewhere with 4 seasons, I reckon this is a good Spring/Summer moisturizer =)
Hope you will like it, let me know if you get it!!
      Happy weekend xx

      • Hi Joey. I live in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I think I might just get the EL Advanced Time Zone since I think it could last me longer than 3 months. There is just so many moistruisers out there and I guess I just need to try them out before settling on something permanent. Thanks for the reply 🙂
