The NARSskin Aqua Gel Luminous Mask comes in a pearly off-white plastic tube with a screw on cap. The packaging is really pretty and I like how “thick” and sturdy the plastic tube is – it’s not soft and filmsy like most plastic tubes out there, it’s hard and structured if you know what I mean.
I have been using this mask for a good couple of months – since November last year. I use it fortnightly together with a selection of other facial masks depending on my skin’s condition.
This mask bears a very pleasant scent – which is slightly stronger as compared to rest of the NARSskin products. Texture is soft and creamy with a gel-like consistency. The white cream spreads over the entire face easily and has a translucent appearance.
The shiny appearance disappears once the product starts to get absorbed and dry – and that’s when you know it’s time to wipe it off (if you are not watching the clock). I give my face a good massage before removing the mask – only for about 1-2 minutes.
I find occasion massages help circulation and absorption rate to increase. But because of my sensitive skin, I only do it for a short time – too much massage breaks me out.
I love the smell for sure. I also like the cooling and freshness upon application. The mask doesn’t dry “hard” which makes removing a bliss.
However, after wiping off or rinsing off, the mask leaves a slippery layer of film (when contact with water) – which I don’t quite like and strange enough, I have not encountered this feeling with other masks I have. To ease this uncomfortable feeling, I use a foaming cleanser to give my face a final wash.
With a foaming cleanser, the slippery feeling is gone.
Overall, I find this a decent performer, a good basic hydrating mask. If you are looking to boost up your skin’s moisture level for a night’s out or special occasion, this does the job.
The NARSskin Aqua Gel Luminous Mask retails at S$58 for 75ml of product, made in USA.
I have reviews of more NARSskin products coming up soon. I must say, I am overall impressed with the textures and lightweight qualities of this line – makes them very well suited for even a hot and humid country like Singapore. And, I love the simple, modern and minimalist packaging.
Thank you for reading.

Hi Joey,
I think I have pretty much same skin condition as yours, and definitely ever looking out for good mask, especially hydrating ones… I’ll like to share my best performing one (as of now)… Guerlain Super Aqua Hydrating Sheet mask!!
