I fell in love with this mask the moment I tried it on my hand. Sounds strange that I am normally drawn to floral scents but this mask smells of Vicks VapoRub – not surprised as Camphor is one of the ingredients used – great to use especially when you are having a cold?

Just kidding but when I had blocked nose, the scent of this mask actually helped.

I have been trying this mask regularly (every week) for the past couple of months and also as an emergency mask when my skin feels congested.

I feel that this mask helps when my skin is starting to break out – you know, during that time of the month (some times before and some times after). It helps to cleanse and exfoliate at the same time. Whenever I am using it, I skip exfoliating with a scrub – just to make sure I don’t overdo it.

The EVE LOM Rescue Mask comes in two sizes, a 50ml in a tube and the one featured here today is 100ml – comes in a white plastic tub and a spatula.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Do not pour the layer of liquid floating above the clay mask. Stir well before use. The liquid comes back so be sure you give the mask a good mix before applying each time.

Texture of the mask is like any typical clay mask but the consistency is more watery. It spreads easily over the skin with little effort. I usually use a brush to apply and mixture sits well on my skin without having the tendency of dripping – I could carry on with work on the computer.

Upon application, there’s a minty cooling sensation which feels amazing on a hot day or when I have had makeup on the entire day.

I wouldn’t recommend using this mask post-facial because if you have any open wounds from squeezing pimples, there will be a little tingling sensation. But the tingling feel goes away after a few minutes.

After cleansing, I apply it over my entire face and neck. I avoid my eye contour area and leave on for about 20 minutes. The mask starts to dry and I gently rub off the mask with upward movements. Then use either a damp muslin cloth or sponge to wipe any excess off.

BENEFITS:

  • Deep cleanses without drying, gently decongests pores and absorbs excess oil
  • Smoothes and conditions skin surface, leaving it supple and soft
  • Helps calms redness and irritation
  • Instantly soothes puffy tired eyes and skin

EXPERT TIP:

If you experience puffiness around the eye area, apply some Rescue Mask diluted with water for 3-5 minutes, rinse and then follow with the Eye Cream.

Overall, love.

I think this mask has served me well and I am amazed with the results. It does all it promises to do and my skin feels fresh, clean, supple and soft. Less oily too. It also helps calms redness. I find it particularly good for times when you know you are going to break out.

It’s like an SOS mask for me now. And I like to pair it with a hydrating mask for my weekly masking routine.
