Top Five Favourites Of The Month – April 2013

My 5 All Time Favourites - 04-2013

Hello everyone, picking this month’s favourites was an easy task. I have been testing them since end March, early April and I have been enjoying each item almost every day.

This month’s favourites consists of a good mix I think, from complexion, to cheeks and highlight to lips. I hope the selection sparks your interest – and hope this post is helpful in any way. Let me know what you have been enjoying this month too, I would love to know.

First up, we have the much-anticipated, highly raved about NARS Satin Lip Pencils. No one I know left the store with just one – it’s hard to even pick two.

As an avid fan of their Velvet Matte Lip Pencils and despite my lack of interest in their Velvet Gloss Lip Pencils, I must say, these Satin Lip Pencils* did not disappoint one bit. In fact, I think I am enjoying them more than the Velvet Matte Lip Pencils.

But of course, Dolce Vita Velvet Matte Lip Pencil is still one of my favourites – it’s hard to change, I love it too much.

Stay tuned for my review about them, I am still trying to get hold of a few more shades – all the pretty shades are out of stock when I visited TANGS the last time.

Next, we have the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact in Lilac Rose. I am a highlighter lover but was never drawn into the brand’s shimmer brick arsenal – currently a proud owner of three, I am enjoying them like no other.

For more pictures and swatches of this beautiful piece, check out this post.

Also from Bobbi Brown, I may have found the red blush. Very often, red blushes are quite intimidating – I have one or two but I hardly reach out for them. This Sheer Color Cheek Tint in Sheer Cherry is – no doubt sheer but provides just the right amount of hue for my skin tone.

It makes me look as if I am blushing. Texture is light, creamy and blends like a dream.

I have been trying a number of BB and CC creams lately. I must say, some of them are really impressive – in terms of coverage and staying power. Take this Clarins UV Plus | HP BB Cream* for example – it provides adequate coverage on its own. And with a little loose powder on top, it lasts throughout the day.

What I like most about this BB Cream, apart from the medium coverage is – it helps smoothen my skin’s texture including the appearance of open pores.

I have also reviewed this product here.

Last but not least, the Clinique Even Better Concealer* has been giving me a hand in concealing my pimples, scars and pigmentations.

This highly pigmented and dense concealer is rich and creamy. A little goes a long way. I prefer not to apply it under the eyes because of its thick texture – it can feel a little heavy. But for rest of the face, this concealer does a great job.

I like patting it onto problem areas with my ring finger. I find this way offers the best coverage and finish. I use a small, pointed brush for spot concealing if I want to create a flawless look. To set, either I use my trusty Benefit Powderflage or simply any setting powder will do too.

Thank you for reading.

    • Hi Jenni,
So happy you are enjoying the Clarins BB Cream too =)
Give the Clinique Concealer a try over the counter, I feel that some people will find it too heavy but it’s great for spot concealing!!
