6 Empties This Month

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Let’s rewind back to May – here are six products I have finished last month. I will definitely repurchase some of them but not one or two of them. Let’s take a look at which are the ones I love.

KIEHL’S BATH & SHOWER LIQUID BODY CLEANSER “LAVENDER” with Plant Protein and Sodium PCA

S$43 – 250ml, USA

Love the smell of this liquid body cleanser. It doesn’t linger on skin after shower but it dresses the bathroom with a lovely lavender scent – imagine hot steam mix with lavender, lovely.

This body cleanser foams up lightly and cleanses the body really well. I enjoy using this especially at night, before bed because of the scent. I find it calming and very relaxing. I would repurchase if the formula ain’t as watery as this. A little thicker in consistency would have scored five stars.

Due to its watery consistency, Mak and I finished this bottle of cleanser in merely 2 weeks.

GIORGIO ARMANI DELICATE CLEANSING BALM

S$65 – 125ml, France

Great for the face but not for the eyes. Never let this cleansing balm gets into your eyes, it hurts so badly, my eyes became red for a good 30 minutes.

The concept of this cleansing balm is similar to oil cleansers. Spread a decent amount onto dry skin, massage and add water to emulsify the balm. Once the balm comes in contact with water, it turns milky and removes impurities.

It doesn’t remove waterproof eye makeup as swiftly as I expected – after the “red eye” incident, this cleanser never made it near my eyes again.

BIODERMA SENSIBIO LOTION for normal to dry sensitive skin*

S$36.70 – 200ml, France

Similar to Clarins Extra Comfort Toning Lotion, this number is great for sensitive skin. It’s soothing, gentle and hydrating at the same time.

Besides the price point, the main differences between Clarins Extra Comfort Toning Lotion and Bioderma Sensibio Lotion are;-

  1. The former is scented so if you are not a fan of fragrant products, the latter would be ideal.
  2. Consistency of the former is thicker whereas the latter is more watery.

Both works equally well but personally, I prefer the Clarins one, mainly because I like the scent of that toner very much.

BELIF FIRST AID AQUA RUSH MASK

S$38 – 50ml, Korea

You know I have a thing for masks from Belif, right? Their First Aid Anti-Hangover Soothing Mask is my favourite and I must say, this is my second. While the Anti-Hangover Soothing Mask helps calm and reduce redness on my skin, this First Aid Aqua Rush Mask helps soften and hydrate my skin.

Be generous with the amount and apply a thick layer over the entire face and neck area. Leave it on for at least 20 mins, have a warm shower and I promise your skin will be well hydrated, soft and smooth.

LANCÔME GÉNIFIQUE YOUTH ACTIVATOR*

S$150 – 30ml, France

Great things come in pairs and this serum works perfectly in line with Visionnaire. It’s hard to describe how each product works because I have never used them separately.

One pump is enough for my entire face, the new Advanced version comes with a new pump dispenser system which picks up just the right amount for each use automatically – so we don’t have to worry about how much is too much.

This serum is lightweight and penetrates into the skin relatively quickly.

LANCÔME VISIONNAIRE [LR 2412 4%] ADVANCED SKIN CORRECTOR*

S$135 – 30ml, France

Texture of Visionnaire is slightly creamier and it has somewhat a powdery touch to it.

When paired together with Génifique, I wake up to smoother, more even toned and refined skin texture the very next day. I was wowed the first time I used them super serums together. My pores appears less obvious – since I have finished these serums beginning May, I have moved on to another skincare routine which I will share with you soon.

I need to go back to this pair soon.
