May – my wedding month. Still recuperating at the moment, I guess it will take a while. Glad that I found some inspiration back and am trying to backlog a few series I have missed. I have folders on my desktop with pictures of my monthly favourites, so I don’t forget — every time I try something I like, I Google search for the product’s image and place it in the folder.
This month, my favourites consist of a concealer, powder foundation, an eyeliner, lipstick I wore on my wedding day and the famous body treatment oil.
I wanted a soft rosy hue on my lips for my wedding, something natural, sort of my lips but better and nothing too pale or nude. Sounds easy but I had to go through my entire collection slowly to find the right shade with the right formula. I would have used my HG NARS Dolce Vita Lipstick but it’s not long-lasting and the pencil is a little drying for my lips at that time.
Glad I found Givenchy Rouge Interdit in 56 Delicate Rose. The lightweight formula is moisturizing and the colour is soft and feminine — exactly what I wanted. I managed to pull through the entire morning (fetch-the-bride) without touching up. I also wore this colour for my first march in.
If you are looking for a compact foundation with proper coverage, luminosity and brightening — this is for you. The Clé de Peau BEAUTÉ Brightening Powder Foundation* is amazing. The texture is smooth and flawless and it lasts pretty well in our hot, humid country.
I usually use a creamy base under this powder foundation, conceal any imperfections if needed and use a buffing brush to buff this foundation onto my skin.
I don’t have very dark under eye circles — on most days, all I have to do is brighten up my under eye area to look more awake and refreshed. I find Benefit Fake Up Hydrating Crease Control Concealer* ideal for my situation.
The coverage is somewhere light to medium (if you have very dark under eye circles, this may not work for you). It’s lightweight, creamy and very easy to blend. I use a foundation brush most of the time but fingers work well to. This concealer doesn’t crease under my eye area throughout the day.
I have a thing for black eyeliners, I love buying and trying them because I use it every single day (or whenever I have makeup on). This Clinique Quickliner For Eyes Intense in 01 Intense Black is — pigmented, creamy and glides onto the lids so seamlessly; and it’s blendable before it sets.
Best of all, it comes with a smudging sponge on the other end and it’s twist-up packaging is very convenient too.
With this eyeliner, I experienced no fading, smudging or transferring. There is no need to set with powder eyeshadow and it lasts all day and night. I tight line my upper and lower lash line with this eyeliner and I love the intensity.
Lastly, another of my wedding must-have — this Clarins “Anti-Eau” Contour Body Treatment Oil served me well both before and on the wedding night itself.
