Chanel Le Vernis In 583 Taboo

Chanel Le Vernis In 583 Taboo (1)

At long last, Taboo has finally landed in Singapore a few weeks ago. I picked mine up from TANGS Orchard last week and I must say, this limited edition piece is a must-have.

Taboo belongs to a fast-track collection Revelation de Chanel released earlier this year which also features 10 other lipglosses. I jumped straight onto Taboo without even swatching the rest. At a glance, this number looks somewhat similar to Malice and Strong but no, it doesn’t.

For those who fancies blue-purple hues, be sure you pick one up before it runs out.

Taboo is complex in every way – imagine mixing Malice, Strong and Vendetta together and sprinkle some silver, blue and red micro-sparkles all over. It reminds me of the galaxy. It’s beautiful from all angles.

Swatches above taken with two coats of Taboo with Seche Vite Top Coat. Two coats of Taboo gives the perfect finish. The formula is smooth and applies evenly, without being streaking.

Let’s take a look at how Taboo compares with Strong, Malice and Vendetta.

Both Strong and Malice bear a more visible metallic finish as compared to Vendetta. Strong is seemingly deeper in tone and contains more of a rusty hue. Vendetta clearly includes more purple and Malice more red. Taboo is the only shade with visible sparkles.

Strong is definitely a one-coater, very pigmented compared to the rest. For more comparison, please visit The Beauty Look Book and The Make-up Blogette.

Bottom-line, Taboo is love.
