Top Five Favourites Of The Month – July 2013

My 5 All Time Favourites - 07-2013

Hello everyone, three months of backlog for my favourite posts. Here’s July for you – consisting of an eye cream, foundation, two eye products from Lancôme and some amazing blotting papers by Tatcha.

First up, Lancôme recently launched a new range of 12 eyeshadow palettes — Hypnôse Palettes in three styles, namely; Doll Eyes for a fresh and luminous look, Star Eyes for a glamorous and sophisticated look and Drama Eyes for a deep and intense look.

I had the chance to preview all 12 palettes and I must say, they are all beautifully pigmented and the colour combination is breathtaking.

The colours can be used both dry and wet, texture is extremely smooth and creamy as well. The compact is similar to their older palettes but what’s amazing is — the brushes are magnetic, say “no” to falling applicators. My favourite at the moment is Doll Eyes D01* which I featured in this look.

The colours worked together very nicely and I can’t wait to share a complete review of the palettes I have with you. Stay tuned.

Next, Tatcha Evening Aburatorigami. Each packet contains 40 sheets of all-natural leaflets which absorb excess oil without disturbing makeup for petal fresh skin. Differences between the Evening Aburatorigami and Original Aburatorigami is — the Evening ones are clutch-sized.

These blotting papers do not steal moisture from the skin. They are also powder-free, fragrance-free and pulp-free.

I am having an obsession with Sulwhasoo skincare at the moment — actually dates back to 1.5 months before my wedding (I changed my entire skincare routine — more about this soon). This Sulwhasoo Timetreasure Renovating Eye Cream has been my good friend for the past 3 months or so and I love it.

I love the luxe yet lightweight texture. It glides onto the delicate eye contour area very smoothly — my eye area seem more hydrated and well maintained.

I ran out of my trusty Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara for my tiny bottom lashes and I kept forgetting to repurchase. Thank goodness I have the Lancôme Hypnôse Star Mascara* in my drawer. Now, I use it on both my upper and lower lashes. I enjoy bringing this “multi-purpose” mascara out for travels.

The tapered brush tip allows me to apply mascara to my bottom lashes swiftly without too much mess. And the formula doesn’t smudge, flake nor clump.

Ever since coming home from Maldives, I have gone 1-2 shades darker — and this calls for a new foundation. I purchased the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Compact Foundation at the airport, I am currently using the shade Beige.

I like how long-lasting this foundation is and the medium buildable coverage looks very natural on the skin. For me, I think fingers work best for this foundation, if not, a buffing brush will work as well too.

What are your favourites this month? Have you checked out the new Lancôme Hypnôse Palettes? And do you need to purchase a new foundation after a summer vacation? Have you tried any Tatcha products you love and would recommend?

Thank you for looking
