Inspired by sand dunes with the colours of the setting sun, this harmony of three colours creates a sleek, elegant, impression for dynamic and dramatic eyes. I had eyes on this trio since its launch so I picked it up just before the wedding because I think the colours are so “wedding friendly”.
New for Spring earlier this year, Shiseido Luminizing Satin Eye Color Trio in RD 711 Pink Sands retails at S$51, contains 3g of product, made in Japan.
This trio is similar to BR 214 Into The Woods in texture — soft and creamy, very finely milled and adheres onto the lids perfectly neatly.
Consists of a shimmery schauss pink, shimmery mauve and a velvety nude pink — I find this trio feminine and classy, young and sophisticated. I don’t usually include pink eyeshadows in my routine but with this trio, I like to use it to accent the multi-dimensional mauve.
All swatches taken under artificial day light, without flash — on dry arms, with no primer.
Although the colours look very intense and highly pigmented on my arm, they ain’t as pronounced on the lids.
If you are someone who loves pigmented colours, this trio may not be something for you. However, by layering the eyeshadows over an eye primer or cream base seem to help and I personally like it that way.
Pictured above is a sheer layer of shimmery mauve over a grey cream colour base. I patted a very small amount of shimmery pink over the center of my lids as an accent and to add depth. I used the nude pink as a highlight on my brow bones.
I love how easy, wearable and versatile this combination is — I can literally wear any blush and lip colour with it. And it matches my wardrobe well. The shades are suitable for any day to night transition as well.
For those who loves a sheer wash of colour across the lids, look no further, this trio is for you.
Thank you for looking.
