Top Five Favourites Of The Month – June 2014

My 5 All Time Favourites - 06-2014

Hello everyone, haven’t done a favourites post in a long time — fact is, I haven’t been exploring new releases lately. All items I am mentioning in this post are items I have been using religiously and on a daily basis for the past couple of months. Each and every piece is nothing but love.

Let’s start with this multipurpose palette, Urban Decay NAKED Basics Eyeshadow Palette* — my go-to palette for brows as well as eyes. For those who have been wondering what I am using for my brows, it’s a mixture of Faint and Crave. This palette is with me on every travel.

It comes in handy and portable size with a slight rubbery finish to the packaging which helps with the grip but nothing sticky.

The shades are so wearable. I like to use Foxy on my brow bones as a highlight, Venus on my inner eyelids to “open up” my eyes. Naked 2 acts as a transition colour for my crease and I like to use Faint to blend out my eyeliner to create a soft, smokey effect.

Full review and swatches can be found here.

I got the chance to test out this Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener* as a judge for one of the beauty awards earlier this year and I am loving it. So glad I had the chance to try this because it’s a product I won’t immediately think of purchasing — because I hardly use a concealer under my eyes.

On most days, I can do without a concealer under my eyes because lucky me, I have little issues with dark circles or heavy discolourations under my eyes.

This product came in especially handy for people like me, someone who has little dark circles but still needs a boost to brighten up the under eye area. It corrects shadows and helps lift the eye area for bigger, brighten and more awaken eyes without the heaviness of a concealer.

Sephora Glossy Lip Pencil in 05 Glossy Pale Pink* has been my go-to shade every day. This nude pink tone is neither too pale nor too stark and it compliments my day-to-day look. Almost like my lips but better — only a little toned down.

The formula is not drying, it glides on very easily and I love the convenience of its twist up packaging — no sharpening required. However, it’s not a long lasting formula thus reapplication is definitely necessary throughout the day.

La Mer The Concentrate seems to be the answer to all my skin problems at this very moment (and for the past few months). It helps give my skin a smoother, clearer appearance and it miraculously treats pimples overnight. If there’s one La Mer product I think you should get, it would be this potent potion.

Consistency of this product is pretty dense, nothing overly watery and the texture is silky smooth. It gives a powdery, velvety finish to touch and I love the smell. The spatula attached to the cap may present some problems when you are near the end but all you have to do is tilt the bottle and scoop up the product.

I don’t usually fancy layering too many products on my face during the day so I only use this at night and I think it works wonders.

Last on the list, my first Serge Lutens scent, Clair de Musc — I am particularly attracted to its transparent musk and delicate floral notes. It’s like a powdery scent with a touch of woodiness, a touch of warmth but nothing too heavy.

A great all occasion scent that stays but doesn’t leave a trail.

Hope some of my favourites this month are part of your collection too. I truly feel that all products featured today are definite keepers in my drawers.

Thank you for looking.
