Glass House Mountains & Aussie World

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The Glass House Mountains are a group of eleven hills that rise abruptly from the coastal plain on Sunshine Coast.

Whilst the traditional names for the mountains themselves are very old, the term “Glass House Mountains” was given more recently by explorer Captain James Cook in 1770. The peaks reminded him of the glass furnaces in his home county of Yorkshire.

Please try the Homemade Flour-less Chocolate Cake at Glass House Mountains Lookout Cafe if you ever visit. It is the best, period.

On our way back to our beach house, we drove pass Aussie World and thought we should pop by for lunch. This is one of the many perks of self-driving, we get to stop as and when we want, and go wherever we wish.

Back to lunch at the Ettamogah Pub, thumbs up to the delicious food and generous servings.
