YSL Rouge Volupté Shine In N° 3, 6, 12, 13 & 19

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine In N° 3, 6, 12, 13 & 19 (1)

Not everyday I get a box of YSL lipsticks waiting for me at home and these came as a surprise. Presented in a sleek and classy white cardboard box, this is definitely one of the most gorgeous press kits I have ever received. In the box, there is a handbook and 5 Rouge Volupté Shine lipsticks.

For more information about these YSL Rouge Volupté Shine, please refer to this post.

Available in 19 shades, each retails at S$45 for 4.5g of product, made in France. The entire range of lipsticks are beautifully displayed at TANGS Orchard and ION.

THE PACKAGING

These YSL Rouge Volupté Shine comes in reflective gold casing stamped with YSL Cassandre logo and wrapped in a sash that matches the colour of the lipstick inside. And its luxurious clasp clicks open and shut in a flick of a twist.

I find the packaging chic and iconic – definitely dresses up every makeup wardrobe.

I find all five shades very beautiful and flattering on my skin tone. But my heart goes to N° 3 Violet Incognito and N° 19 Fuchsia In Rage because they are not my usual picks – something different.

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine - N° 3 Violet Incognito

N° 3 Violet Incognito is a little bold yet nothing too over the top, a little vamp but not goth. I think it’s very elegant and this is the new red.

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine - N° 6 Pink In Devotion

N° 6 Pink In Devotion is natural and delicate. It brightens up my complexion with a touch of rose. Even without any eye makeup, this shade works really well on me – it’s a great everyday and work friendly option.

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine - N° 12 Corail Incadescent

N° 12 Corail Incadescent is crisp and bright. I can’t help but feel that this shade fits the summer season very well – I think it will look absolutely gorgeous on the beach. On my lips, this shade leans a little more pink but the coral hue still reflects through beautifully.

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine - N° 13 Pink In Paris

N° 13 Pink In Paris totally lost its coral hue on my lips. Instead, I get a soft baby pink which is surprisingly quite flattering. I find it hard to pull of baby pinks but this is definitely an exception. And I enjoy the youthfulness of this shade.

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine - N° 19 Fuchsia In Rage

N° 19 Fuchsia In Rage is playful and at the same time classy. I love the careful blend of pink and purple in this shade – this is surely a unique addition to my stash.

THE FORMULA

Texture of these Rouge Volupté Shine are silky smooth and feather light. I enjoy wearing them directly from their tubes – I use a lip brush to touch up the corners ever so slightly for the sharper shades. I love how buttery and creamy they feel when I press my lips together.

Each of these are very lightly scented with mango, unless I take a close sniff, I can’t smell anything (which is good for me).

This range of lipsticks are formulated to provide moisture and prevent lips from drying out. They are like tinted lip balms and they really don’t dry my lips out. I skip using a lip balm whenever I use these. The formula glides onto my lips and leaves a smooth, glossy finish – almost as if I applied a layer of thin gloss on top.

Designed for women who are intimidated by vibrant colours – this range of Rouge Volupté Shine is perfect for wearing and playing with colours. Its formula contains a dose of colour with a touch of translucency.

THE OVERVIEW

I love the range of colours, the texture and the finish. I feel that this range of lipsticks is worth exploring and I personally find the deeper, darker shades more captivating. It brings wearing bold lips to the next level – instead of a solid block of colour on the lips, you get a decent dose of colour with a three-dimensional aspect of the smooth, glossy finish.

These lipsticks didn’t dry out my lips. During testing, I noticed the shine gets worn out first, followed by the colour.

I get an average of 4 hours with them but with the darker shades, they leave a stain behind. Some of you may dislike the stain but I personally find it helpful – at least my lips still have some colour after a meal.

If I have to pick one from this set, it would be N° 3 Violet Incognito – favourite of Lloyd Simmonds, creative makeup director of the brand. I believe the richer, sharper and bolder shades are what the Rouge Volupté Shine stands for and I highly recommend you to check out these shades.

I hope this entry has helped some of you. And let me know your picks if you have already picked up one or two.

Thank you for looking.

  1. Wow — Violet Incognito looks absolutely stunning. I love Pink In Devotion on you as well, but I’ve been head over heels for vamps this season, and the tone of this one just seems so spot-on.

    Gorgeous! ♥

  2. Work it girl! You are such a vamp on that first picture, you really wear that lipstick amazingly well! I actually really love the shade selection of these, I bet I’m going to love that coral!

  3. Of course, Violet Incognito is an Asia and Europe only release. We didn’t get it in the US. I guess I’ll have to move to Asia as you guys always get the prettiest makeup! Guerlain has released a gorgeous blush called “Sakura”, only in Asia, but I have a friend who is traveling to Japan next month and she’ll try to get one for me.

    • Hi Mimi,
Really? I wasn’t aware that there’s different release in different countries =(
      Thanks for shouting out!!
Yes, I saw that blush but I don’t think it’s out in Singapore yet too..
      Happy weekend dear xx

  4. Violet Incognito looks incredibly beautiful on you, I have way to many reds and vamps but this shade looks yum! I may pick up something coral from this line though 😉

  5. Joey, your post inspired me to hunt down #3 Violet Incognito, which is not available at retail in the US (but is thankfully available online through the YSL website). It is AMAZING!

I also picked up #2 Pourpre Intouchable, which is the darkest shade available in the US and is more red brown than Violet Incognito. Also super flattering. Have you tried any other shades from this collection?

    • Hi dear,
Aww, most welcome and the most importantly thing is – you are loving it =)
I am so happy to know that, thanks for sharing!!
I might have to take another look at #2 now that you have mentioned.
      Actually, I am thinking of #5, #9 and #17 =)
      xx

    • Thanks for the tip Mulberrytea! I just snapped up Violet Incognito #3 online. I’ve been wanting this color since before Christmas and thought I was out of luck. Kisses to you!

  6. I can’t think of anything better to come home to – a big box of YSL lipsticks! The Violet Incognito looks amazing on you. Just wanted to ask as well, what eyeshadows are you wearing in the photos? Looks great!! 🙂

  7. hey joey,
just wondering if you prefer the tom ford lip color shines or these ysl rouge volupte shines?
