What makes the Rouge Volupté Shine formula so unique?

Lipsticks are primarily composed of soft waxes and hard waxes to create the firmness of the stick, oils for shine and pigments for colour. To create Rouge Volupté Shine our laboratories played with the ratio of the various waxes and introduced a unique complex of smoothing ingredients. Rouge Volupté Shine therefore offers a unique consistency that instantly melts on contact with lips, imparting an ultra shiny protective film that’s as clear as water. For a bitten-lip, glossy effect.

How does the “back injection” process work?

The Rouge Volupté Shine manufacturing process is based on a particular technology called “back injection”. Unlike classic lipsticks in which the sticks are fixed in the tubes when cold, this process entails pouring the liquid base into the tubes while it’s still hot, literally injecting it from the bottom up. It then solidifies as it cools off. This unique process allows the creamy texture of the new formula, rich in soft waxes, to be shaped as a stick, for a made to measure lipstick that glides on effortlessly and bathes the lips in colour and shine.

There are two times more soft waxes in the Rouge Volupté Shine formula by Yves Saint Laurent Beauté than in a classic lipstick.

Tell us about the new Rouge Volupté Shine.

Rouge Volupté Shine is a new way to wear and play with colour. Incredibly light on the lips, with more transparent coverage, its formula contains a dose of colours infused into the creamy, balm-like, ultra glossy texture.

You liberate women who are intimidated by vibrant colours!

It’s tough to be daring enough to wear dark purple, electric plum of flamboyant fuchsia. The subtlety of Rouge Volupté Shine allows women to be newly comfortable in dark or forthright shades such as reds, purples and browns. On the lips, they remain chic, natural and incredibly fresh.

How did you come up with these 19 new shades?

I wanted to create irresistible, highly expressive shades that work for all skin tones, from fair to dark and that allow all kinds of desires. First I created the core colours of the collection: beiges, pinks and corals. Then I explored the stronger, bolder ones: N° 19 Fuchsia In Rage, N° 3 Violet Incognito and N° 4 Rouge In Danger, for the pleasure of going out on a limb.

What’s your favourite colour?

Personally, I prefer the darker shades like the N° 3 Violet Incognito. It’s very rock, high drama, terribly YSL yet it’s still subtle on the lips.
