I don’t know about you but I am scared of purples. I love purples but I always feel that they don’t suit me and my skin tone well. Picking Shiseido’s latest Shimmering Cream Eye Color in VI 305 Purple Dawn was a gamble. After trying several combination (with different eyeliners and shape of the eyeshadow), I think I did a pretty decent job. For face: I wanted something light and natural which will let my skin glow – I picked Lancome Teint Miracle Natural Light Creator Foundation for this look. But prior to applying the foundation, I used Make Up For Ever HD Primer in #2 to take away the redness on my skin. I also used Lancome Teint Miracle Multi-Lights Touch Corrector as a concealer under my eyes. Set with Lancome Micro-Aerated Pressed Powder.

For eyes: I did my brows last using Anna Sui Eyebrow Color Compact in 01 Red Brown to fill in my brows lightly. Set and groom my brows with Benefit Speed Brow – a slightly tinted brow gel. I started off by applying a black eyeliner to my upper and lower lash line – blend the eyeliner, it doesn’t matter if it gets messy.

I didn’t apply any primer nor foundation on my lids, I went in straight with the Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color in VI 305 Purple Dawn. I used a fluffy cream brush (Sephora I.T. Brush #235) and pick up some product from the pot. Remove access at the back of hand and apply to the lower lids – then blend upwards. Create any shape that suits your eyes. I have created a more dramatic shape and went pretty low along the lower lash line – you don’t have to do that. Layer more cream eye color at the corners of the eyes to intensify and define.

I used what’s left on the brush to lightly highlight my brow bones. Finish off with some false eyelashes.

For cheeks & lips: I used Clarins Colour Definition 3D Radiance Face Powder to highlight my cheek bones followed by applying NARS Powder Blush in Amour. For the lips, I applied a thin layer of lip balm and trace the shape of my lips with Inglot Lip Pencil in #15 – a matte nude colour. I fill in the lips lightly to take away its natural colour. Finish off by applying a thin layer of Chanel Rouge Allure Laque in 77 Santal. I tried to stay away from any gloss or any lip products that’s shiny because I wanted the focus to be on my eyes.
