Kiehl’s Aromatic Housewarming Journey At Plaza Singapura

On 29 October 2012, Kiehl’s – the venerable New York-based purveyor of fine quality skin, body and hair care preparations celebrated the reopening and relocation of its store at Plaza Singapura.

Kiehl’s first opened its door at Plaza Singapura on 14 November 2009, however due to the expansion plans of the mall, Kiehl’s closed its doors in May 2012 to prepare for the move to the new wing of Plaza Singapura. Finally after 5 months, Kiehl’s is now ready to serve the community at the new location, #01-66.

One exclusive feature at the newly refurbished store would be its 5.4m high ceilings of framed photographs displayed to chronicle the long-standing history, heritage and spirit of Kiehl’s over the past 161 years.

Not forgetting the friendly skeleton, Mr. Bones, who greets every customer at the store entrance, representing Kiehl’s commitment to science and education and doubles up as an autograph-able medium for celebrities who proudly want to declare and spread their love for Kiehl’s.

Beginning of the week, a “housewarming party” was held at their newly relocated Plaza Singapura location – I got a pair of tickets to travel the world, well, not physically but spiritually. The Kiehl’s team introduced their new range of Aromatic Blends – pure scents from around the world.

I checked in at Kyoto for their lovely Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit floral scent, Morocco for their fresh Orange Flower & Lychee sweet scent, Uganda for their manly Vanilla & Cedarwood smoky scent and lastly, South of France for their unique Fig Leaf & Sage herbal scent.

Each scent comes with a Body Cleanser and Body Lotion. And I am pleasantly surprised that each of these scent has their own uniqueness especially Vanilla & Cedarwood and Fig Leaf & Sage.

My favourite would be Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit – it’s a very safe and easy scent and my guess is, it will appeal to many people in general. Orange Flower & Lychee wasn’t as sweet nor fruity as I imagined, I like this one too.

Check them out if you haven’t, they are worth a sniff or two – trust me. Details of this range coming right up.

This new store at Plaza Singapura is very neatly presented, I love the interior a lot. It’s very inspiring and spacious in a way. Strategically located at the edge with bright neon signage and strikingly colourful decorations – it’s impossible to miss.

And the brick wall just outside serves as a pretty good spot for taking Outfits Of The Day it seems. And so, I have one for you here.

Kiehl’s will also debut their newly refurbished outlet at TANGS Orchard with the world’s first neon chandelier on 15 November.

The refurbishment of Kiehl’s at TANGS Orchard is made to reveal an exciting change and experience for all their customers, with the unique “shop in a shop” concept, that is nothing like that of a traditional departmental store counter. Instead, the design is specially made to allow their customers to immediately feel as if they have set foot into a Kiehl’s boutique, while introducing new elements for discovery.

Kiehl’s at TANGS Orchard will be home to a neon chandelier, first in the world of Kiehl’s, as compared to the classic crystal chandeliers to further exude the energizing and New York vibrant store décor signature to every Kiehl’s store. To reflect Kiehl’s historical ambience and rich heritage of 161 years, the ceiling features the Kiehl’s emblems and quotable quotes.

Another first in Singapore feature can be found with the unique Kiehl’s Photo Booth for their customers to bring home complimentary photographs of themselves with their favourite Kiehl’s products. Now, nobody leaves Kiehl’s without samples and a photo memory of their experience at Kiehl’s.
