This Lancôme Ombre Absolue Palette in F95 Baby Romance features an illuminating shade with light reflecting pigments that help brighten eyes, a smoothing base colour for all over the lids, a medium shade to add intensity and depth and a strong shade for contouring the eyes.

F95 Baby Romance comes in a standard Lancôme black quad casing, slim and compact – and it comes with not two but three applicators. Decorated with sandblasted floral motives across the casing, this palette sure stood out from the crowd – rest of my Lancôme palettes.

Inside the palette, you will find a sparkling metallic silver, a semi-sheer satin baby pink, an iridescent champagne and a glittery olive-taupe. I find the combination of colours very sweet and innocent but in a grown up way – I guess the taupe plays a big part in this and it’s a beauty.

However, while testing this quad in several occasions, I find that the best way is to apply with an eyeshadow primer underneath because the beautiful taupe can get messy. On my first try, I had glitter particles all over my cheeks and the colours didn’t seem to adhere nicely onto my lids.

With a base on, problem solved.

Swatches above taken under natural sun light, without flash – on dry arm.

Other than the taupe, I don’t have problems with the other colours. This is a beautiful quad for those who prefers a softer, more feminine look. Texture of the shades are smooth and they have decent colour payoff. I had no problems with them creasing but I spotted minor fading after the sixth hour mark – without a primer.

As much as I like the colour combination of this quad, I am not sure if I would recommend it to anyone – mainly due to the fall outs I get with the taupe.

If you don’t mind the extra step of applying a primer, I think you will appreciate this sparkling quad which indeed, brightens up the eyes. The shades are also easy to blend but not necessarily buildable except the silver.

Thank you for looking.

    • Hi Carrot,
I think.. There’s no true or false about wearing pink or any light colours for monolids..
It depends on what pink and the placement of eyeshadow..
There are a few friends I know who can pull of pink/light eyeshadows and they have monolids..
Best to start with matte shades IMO =)
      Happy Saturday xx
