MAC Singapore have decided to launch 3 collections all at once to celebrate the New Year? It certainly did make a mark on my calendar – biggest spending at MAC for 2011 to begin with and here are the items I got from this collection.
Let’s start with the Nail Lacquer in Soiree. The texture is amazing, probably one of the best from MAC so far, based on the ones I have. It’s opaque and beautiful with just one coat.
To me, Soiree is a deep golden-bronze with shimmering glitter flecks. It applies easily and smoothly.
I hardly purchase highlighting powders but I am captivated by both these shades. I got both the Special Reserve Highlight Powder in Rose Ole and Chez Chez Lame.
Rose Ole looks more natural on me. Temptalia describes Rose Ole as a rosy copper beige with a soft golden sheen. On the other hand, Chez Chez Lame looks a whole lot more pronounced on me. And Temptalia describes Chez Chez Lame as a softened white gold with subtle yellow undertones and a soft white shimmer-sheen.
Lastly, I had my eyes on the Caviar Dreams Eyeshadow Quad which consist of Brule (S) – neutral light beige, Retrospeck (L) – soft gold, ET TU, Bouquet? (F) – pale pink and Caviar Dreams (L) – medium brown.
I can’t believe I don’t have Brule in my stash. I am liking Retrospeck and Caviar Dreams. The colours of this quad works well together and I think they look beautiful.

Great haul! I got Rose Ole & both nail cols. Did no plan to get Soiree but tried it earlier & had to get it. It would match the HW of my new Balenciaga bag. How much more lame I can get when it comes to buying MU.

I got one of the liners, and vintage selection. I’m still tossing up between the chez and the ole. But the quad looks good too! Thanks for your views.

Personally, I like Rose Ole more as it gives off a more subtle sheen but if you like something more define, Chez Chez Lame would be ideal..
Caviar dreams, may be I will get it, maybe not, since the shades are not exceptional, nice but not spectacular. January is not the best month for me to splurge. Compulsory detox period for me after all the post X’mas & NY sales.

Don’t get Caviar Dreams, I used it the other day, it doesn’t wear well for some reason..
Must try it with a primer or colour base the next time I use it..
The colours doesn’t seem to show much =(
Joey, I’ve not used Rose Ole yet. But I love what I saw when I swatched it. I layered it over the CCB & it looks really pretty. I will get to it soon. How are you loving both of yours?

I used Chez Chez Lame on top of a rosy blush the other day, absolutely gorgeous!!
hi joey, I’m back home now! 😀 and it did rain a bit while being in Singapore. It’s a beautiful city. Love it a lot! But I didn’t get any more MAC while in Singapore as I had not access to my bank accounts 😦 so I’m getting it at home instead.
