A relatively simple look for a night’s out featuring some of my newly purchased products – Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow in No.19 Midnight Plum (reviewed here), YSL Blush Radiance in N°6 (reviewed here) and MAC Pro Longwear Lipglass in Full Speed Ahead (mentioned here).
For face: I wanted a somewhat matte finish for this look because the main focus will be on the deep, smoky eyes and bright lips – I don’t want anything too shimmery for the face. To create a more flawless appearance, I have chosen to prep my skin with BECCA Resurfacing Primer – Line & Pore Minimising, Mattifying Formula, followed by a thin layer of Le Blanc de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Base to perk up tired looking skin – adding just the right amount of radiance. I have also chosen a matte foundation, Chanel Mat Lumiére Long Lasting Luminous Matte Fluid Makeup. This combination allowed my skin to look matte with just a tiny amount of glow. Set with loose powder.
For eyes: I applied a skin tone base and went in with MAC Velvet Eyeshadow in Vanilla just under my brows. Then I applied Illamasqua Powder Eyeshadow in Slink to the inner corners of my eyes and 3/4 of the lids – this will act as a base for Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow in No.19 Midnight Plum which I applied at the outer corners (slightly winged out) and up to the crease. I used Illamasqua Powder Eyeshadow in Drama, a deep blue grey as a black to deepen and define my outer corners and blend.
Instead of using a black eyeliner, I used a deep navy blue eyeliner to line my upper and lower lash line. Smudge the eyeliner along the lower lash line with some Midnight Plum and Drama. This is optional – I gently dabbed a little MAC Frost Eyeshadow in Parfait Amour to the center of my lids and blend in with Midnight Plum. This will add more dimension to the eyes and a touch more purple as well. Finish the eyes with some false eyelashes.
For cheeks & lips: I went for a pink blush and applied it along the cheek bones. Slightly higher than I would normally apply my blush because I will be wearing MAC Pro Longwear Lipglass in Full Speed Ahead – I didn’t want to much pink going on around the lip area.
I hope you like this look. Swap the lip colour to something neutral or lighter if you wish for a more wearable day time look.
