Top Five Favourites Of The Month – June 2013

My 5 All Time Favourites - 06-2013

I find this month’s top five favourites products to be rather plain-looking, colourless and dull so I have added a little blue bubbly background to perk up the picture. But don’t judge the book by its cover — although these products looks plain and “boring”, they are actually very useful and possibly HG worthy.

I have been playing with the NARS Light Reflecting Setting Powder – Pressed* for a long time, sorry for taking so long; too long to share. I don’t own the loose version and haven’t played with it (on the face) before but it’s super smooth and ultra finely milled.

Back to the pressed version, it’s housed in a very sleek and slim compact; and comes with an ultra soft sponge (which I don’t use).

I think I have found a replacement for my old and trusty Benefit Powderflage which I have always used under my eyes to brighten and set my concealer. I have been using the NARS one instead and I think the results are very similar. In fact, I think the NARS one is more potent and versatile. Mainly because it’s not exactly meant to be used for only the under eyes.

I mainly use the NARS Light Reflecting Setting Powder – Pressed to set concealer under my eyes but I also use it as a finishing powder — to brighten up areas like in-between my brows, nose bridge, chin and sides of my nose.

I love brow products although I don’t always change mine but the grey hue in this Clé de Peau BEAUTÉ Eyebrow Pencil in 202 Grey Brown is so delicate I couldn’t resist.

This brow pencil is angled in such a way it fits nicely onto the contours of the brows. Formula is somewhat similar to Shu Uemura’s — it’s hard but easy to apply when in contact with brow oils. Small strokes create beautiful shaped brows and no worries, this formula is gentle and won’t deposit too much undesired pigment.

Make Up For Ever Sculpting Kit in Shade 2* has been my go-to lately whenever I need some definition on my face. I used this on my wedding day too — depending on which combination and shade you choose, Shade 2 is just nice for my skin tone, nothing too deep and overwhelming.

I am loving EVE LOM Kiss Mix. I like how it moisturizes my lips and has that tingling sensation to perk them up too. Doesn’t taste of anything, worth a try.

Lastly, Shu Uemura POREraser UV Under Base Mousse SPF35 PA+++* creates smooth and flawless skin. It visibly reduces the appearances of pores — for me, around the nose and cheeks.

I have tried this base with other foundations and find it works best with liquid types and absolutely seamless with the brand’s Face Architect Smooth Fit Fluid Foundation and Dual Fit Pressed Powder to set. This base is also suitable for combination skin like mine, I feel it contains some oil-control properties.

I highly recommend all products featured in this month’s post because I have been using them for months and am still so in love with them. Have you tried any of them before? Do you think you will?

Thank you for looking
